Haley Bop, Our Very Own Gerber Baby

Update from the Goodwins

When we were planning our wedding, we made a down payment, non-refundable of course, for a photographer.  Since we eloped, the photographer did a shoot for us on our 1 year anniversary in Valle Crucis, NC.  It was either the 4th or 6th of September. I can't remember.

Noah Frie should probably stop wearing socks!!

I have decided, pretty firmly in fact, that Noah should definitely follow in the steps of one of my very few heroes, Albert Einstein.  I fail to see any coincidence to the fact that this morning, as I was just finishing up a very entertaining book about Einstein, I learned of our French Frie blog and Noah’s notion of becoming a physicist.

I will send the book to Noah.  The story revolves around a young girl who wonders into a space-time dimension in which all the great scientist of yesteryear are continuing their work. She spends the duration of the book with Einstein.  She learns not only of the basic notions which form the substance of his complex research but also of his personality and life.  As Einstein said, “If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough.”  Therefore, I think I may have partly understood the book but I am sure Noah is much better equipped to read it.

Nancy is a Domestic Goddess

I would like to give a big SHOUT OUT to Nancy for creating this blog!  I would also like to commend her for her unfailing diligence in trying to keep us all connected!  I love the cards and pictures she sends!  Nancy reminds us all how important family is!  The Fries are not known for their wonderful communication skills or efforts to keep in touch despite the best of intentions and Nancy is just what we need to keep our gears spending!  So CHEERS to Nancy!

The Maine Frie's

I'll start with an update of what The Maine Frie's have been up to

Noah turned 13 on October 21. He is in 7th grade (WOW!) and a member of the Academic Challenge Team this year.  He is already 5'1" and soon will be taller than I am. He has recently shared his thoughts on becoming a Physicist with us, and I can absolutely see him doing this!

Paige turned 7 on December 21 and is in 1st grade.  She loves to read and is halfway through the Wizard of Oz. She is reading at a 3rd grade level! What a smart kid. She is playing basketball and Patrick is coaching. She also takes dance classes, and voice lessons and is a Daisy Girl Scout!

Haley turned 4 on November 3rd. She is in preschool this year 2 days a week and loves it. She is also taking dance lessons and loves to dress up like a beautiful ballerina! Haley loves to sing too and sometimes can be found sneaking into Paige's lesson to sing too!

Owen turned 1 on December 23rd. he now weighs 22.5lbs and is growing so fast. He says dada, nana, and sometimes mama.  He has learned how to climb up the stares and likes to bounce when music plays.  He is a sweet boy and the perfect final addition to our family.

Patrick and I are doing well too. Patrick is loving his IRS job and glad to be done delivering the mail in the snow! I have started going to Zumba classes.  They are so fun!!!! I recommend it to everyone. We are both very thankful for our wonderful family and miss everyone down south very much

Keeping in Touch

Everyone is so busy these days it seems next to impossible to keep up to date on who is doing what. So I have created this blog and my hopes are that when something is going on or there is some event to share you will email me and I can write it up here.  Send pictures you want to share or accomplishments.

Family is so important and we need to stay connected.

So please email me at thefriefamily@yahoo.com anything you would like to share with the family. I promise to check on a daily basis and update the blog accordingly.  I've never done a blog before so this is a learning process for me but I'm sure it won't take long to get the hang of it.

We Maine Frie's miss everyone and hope to hear form you all soon so I can start getting things posted.

Peace and Love,
Nancy
